Hanafuda Cards
Hanafuda, “flower cards”, is a deck of 48 playing cards divided into 12 suits of four cards. Each suit is named for a month of the year and pictures a flower identified with that month. The seasonal flowers have long histories in poetry and art, often tracing back to Heian Japan, and are rich in folklore and trivia.
